🗣️ More Trash Talk, Grottoes Style! 🗑️

Hey neighbors—just a heads-up from your friendly Town Hall crew!

To make sure your trash gets picked up, be sure to roll your Meridian blue toter to the curb the night before pickup day. Their trucks run early and use GPS tracking, so they know exactly when they’ve been by your house.

📍 If your cart’s not out in time, we can’t guarantee when they’ll be back.

And one more thing: 🚫 Only the official blue Meridian toters will be emptied. No off-brand carts allowed!

Thanks for being awesome and helping Grottoes keep things clean and running smooth. We appreciate you! 💙

🎤🇺🇸 On Friday, July 11, 2025, the Town of Grottoes proudly honored the life and legacy of Chief William “Bill” Davies with the official dedication of the newly renamed Chief William “Bill” Davies Stage at John E. Painter Park.

Chief Davies served our community as Chief of Police for 13 years and made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty on July 21, 1988. He was remembered as a devoted public servant, a family man, and a leader who earned the respect and admiration of many. While some knew him as a tough and principled officer, others knew him as a kind and generous friend—always striving to make things right.

His daughter, Ms. Kathleen Stump, graciously accepted the resolution on his behalf during the ceremony. The dedication also celebrated those who made the stage renovation possible, including Mr. Roger Randall & Caleb Bailey, and our Town Council and Staff. Special plaques were presented to Mr Randall & Mr Bailey for their contributions to the stage renovations

We are grateful to everyone who joined us for this meaningful event, and we extend our deepest thanks to all our service members and their families for the sacrifices they continue to make every day.

Chief Davies’ legacy will live on through the music, community events, and shared memories that will fill this space for generations to come. 💙

🟩 GREEN TOTER UPDATE 🟩

Waste Management has notified us they will NOT be picking up any remaining green toters left around town.

If you still have one, please leave it curbside and either Meridian or our Grottoes Public Works crew will collect it as they make their way through town. If you prefer to keep it for your own use you may, but know that it will not be serviced by Meridian.

🚫 No need to call or email—just make sure it’s out by the street and we’ll take it from there!

Thanks for your patience as we finish up this transition and get these green giants out of the way. 💪🗑️

EDITED TO ADD 133PM: Meridian has contracted Waste Management to continue dumpster service at Carson Circle and the 12th & 13th Street Townhouses—so you’ll still see WM servicing those specific dumpster locations.
