
The Town of Grottoes is seeking dedicated residents to serve on two important volunteer boards:
- Board of Zoning Appeals
- Planning Commission
These boards play a key role in shaping the growth, planning, and development of our community. Serving on a board is a rewarding way to make a positive impact in Grottoes.
Board Descriptions:
Planning Commission
The Planning Commission advises the Town Council on land use, zoning, and community planning matters. This board reviews development proposals, makes recommendations for comprehensive planning, and helps guide the town’s long-term growth. More information can be found HERE.
- Meeting Schedule: Last Tuesday of odd-numbered months at 6:00 PM
- Location: Council Chambers
Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA)
The BZA hears appeals from decisions made by the zoning administrator, considers requests for variances, and interprets the town’s zoning regulations. This board ensures fair and consistent application of zoning laws. More information can be found HERE.
- Meeting Schedule: Third Tuesday of the month, as needed, at 7:00 PM
- Location: Council Chambers
Qualifications:
- Must be a resident of the Town of Grottoes
- Interest or experience in planning, zoning, or community development is preferred
- Ability to attend regular meetings and actively participate
- Commitment to serving the town’s best interests
