Voting is Now Open!
The Town of Grottoes is looking extra spooktacular this year! Town Staff spent several hours driving through town on Monday evening and found many homes showing off their Halloween spirit. We’re sure we may have missed a few — if you’d like to share your decorated home for everyone to enjoy, please email Crystal. We’re also happy to replace any of the photos we snapped with better ones you’ve taken — just email them in, and we’ll update the gallery! Be sure to include the address.
Below are the official contest nominees for the PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD 2025. These homes were submitted by residents before October 20th, are eligible for public voting, so take a virtual stroll through the gallery, admire the creativity, and cast your vote for your favorite display! Or better yet – take a walk or drive through these neighborhoods and see them for yourself. VOTING ENDS OCTOBER 28TH AT 9:00 AM!! Winners for all categories will be announced on Wednesday, October 29th and yard signs will be placed in yards that day so all can see. Town Staff will pick up yard signs the week of November 3rd.

👻 More Spooky Stops Around Town
In addition to this year’s official nominees, our staff spotted many other homes decked out for Halloween all across Grottoes! The creativity, lights, and spooky spirit have made it such a fun season to drive through and enjoy.
While these homes aren’t part of the public voting round, they — along with the nominees above — are all eligible to be chosen for our additional contest categories, including:
- Spookiest House – Summon your inner ghoul! This category rewards the scariest, most spine-tingling display in town. Think haunted houses, graveyards, skeletons, eerie lighting, and jump-scares galore!
- Best Decorated Block (Frightfully Festive Street) – This one’s for the neighbors who haunt together! Streets with multiple decorated homes will be judged as a group. The more homes participating, the better your chance to win. Rally your block for spooky domination!
- Fall Harvest Charm – Celebrate the beauty of the autumn season! This category is perfect for those who prefer warm and welcoming over creepy and crawly. Think hay bales, scarecrows, mums, corn stalks, pumpkins, and all things cozy and fall.
- Family-Friendly Fun – Not all Halloween fun needs to be scary! This award celebrates the homes that bring smiles instead of screams—perfect for kids and families. Whimsical witches, cheerful ghosts, and colorful displays are encouraged.

Monday, October 27 – Tuesday, October 28, 2025
Make sure your display is complete and lit by dusk on both evenings. - Winners will be announced: Wednesday, October 29, 2025
- Prizes include:
- A festive prize package
- A custom yard sign to show off your win (will be placed by Town Staff on 10.29.25)
- Bragging rights for an entire year!
