Get ready to bring the fright and delight! The Town of Grottoes invites residents to participate in our first Halloween Home Decorating Contestāa fun and festive way to show your spooky spirit and brighten up the town for all the trick-or-treaters.
Whether you go creepy or creative, scary or sweet, thereās a category for everyone!
š Contest Categories:
1. Spookiest House
Summon your inner ghoul! This category rewards the scariest, most spine-tingling display in town. Think haunted houses, graveyards, skeletons, eerie lighting, and jump-scares galore!
2. Best Decorated Block (Frightfully Festive Street)
This oneās for the neighbors who haunt together! Streets with multiple decorated homes will be judged as a group. The more homes participating, the better your chance to win. Rally your block for spooky domination!
3. Fall Harvest Charm
Celebrate the beauty of the autumn season! This category is perfect for those who prefer warm and welcoming over creepy and crawly. Think hay bales, scarecrows, mums, corn stalks, pumpkins, and all things cozy and fall.
4. Family-Friendly Fun
Not all Halloween fun needs to be scary! This award celebrates the homes that bring smiles instead of screamsāperfect for kids and families. Whimsical witches, cheerful ghosts, and colorful displays are encouraged.
5. Peopleās Choice
You decide! Open to all entriesāthis category is determined by community voting. Whether itās cute, creepy, or wildly creative, vote for your favorite decorated home in town. Last day to submit nominations for this category will be Monday, October 20th at NOON. After that time, a poll to vote on nominees will be added to the website. Until then, SHARE YOUR NOMINATION (read below for instructions).
