🚧 Road Closure Notice – Thursday, July 24 🚧
Beginning around 9:00 AM, the Town of Grottoes will continue infrastructure upgrades that require the following closures:
🔹 Dogwood Avenue from 7th Street to 5th Street
🔹 6th Street from Cherry Avenue to Elm Avenue
Please plan ahead and use alternate routes while crews are at work. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve our town’s infrastructure!

At 3:10 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Broadway to near Bridgewater to near Staunton, moving southeast at 15 mph.
🚫 Don't Overfill Your Trash Toters! 🚫
If your trash lid won’t close—or is barely hanging on—you’re over the limit! Meridian has been giving us a grace period, but that’s coming to an end. If your toter looks like these, it may not be emptied.
🗑️ Need more space?
You can request a second toter for just $3 per bill ($1.50/month).
👉 Contact Meridian Waste or Town Hall to request an extra toter.
♻️ Or, take your excess to the Rockingham County collection site on 20th Street.

Town of Grottoes staff had the chance to tour Grand Caverns yesterday—and let’s just say, navigating those underground stairs was a reminder that we don't all have cave explorer agility! 😄🦇
For some of us, it was our very first time inside the caverns. Others hadn’t been in nearly 20 years. (Yes, it's still just as jaw-dropping—and a perfect 54 degrees year-round!)
We had a great time with our guide Adrienne—she was fantastic! And honestly, the entire Grand Caverns staff is awesome. Friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly proud of this local treasure.
Did you know Grand Caverns is the oldest continually operating show cave in the United States? Right here in Grottoes!

📚 Tools For School Donation Drive 🎒
Massanutten Regional Library is currently hosting a "Tools For School" campaign to help local students get the supplies they need for a successful school year.
📍 A donation drop box is conveniently located inside Grottoes Town Hall — feel free to drop off new school supplies during regular hours! The library is open Monday-Thursday 10 AM to 6 PM and Fridays 10 AM to 2 PM. Drive ends August 4th, 2025.
