Let’s Talk Trash… Literally. 🗑️

Here’s the latest on the toter transition in Grottoes:

🔵 Meridian is still delivering the new blue toters and has let us know that the final 70 may not arrive until Saturday morning. We understand some residents in town (we have reached out to Meridian to find out where so we can edit this post once we know) may be without a toter until then. If you have no other option for tonight, the landfill site on 20th Street is open. It’s not ideal, but we hope it’s just a short window of inconvenience — thank you for your patience!

💚 Waste Management has been seen removing the green toters, but we don’t have a pickup schedule or the route they're running. Please just leave your green toter at the curb and it will be collected.

📞 Important note: This is all the information Town Hall has right now. If you call, we’ll tell you exactly what you just read — and honestly, we know you’ve got better things to do with your Friday afternoon than chat with us about trash!

✅ If you think you received the wrong number of toters from Meridian, that’s when you should call us. We reported the number based on what you're billed for. We’re happy to:

* Confirm your account,
* Request an additional toter ($3 added to your bill per toter),
* Or arrange pickup for extras.

Just know: Any changes will be handled next week.

Thanks again for hanging in there with us as we wrap up the transition! @followers

🚛 Trash Toter Transition Update 🚛

The transition between Waste Management and Meridian Waste is still underway and will continue into tomorrow (Friday). We’ve received several calls about when toters will be delivered or picked up—unfortunately, we don’t have access to the specific routes Meridian or Waste Management are using.

👉 If you have not received your new toter by noon on Friday, please give Town Hall a call and we’ll follow up with Meridian on your behalf.

So far, things have gone pretty smoothly—thank you to everyone for your patience and cooperation as we complete this transition! 💚 townofgrottoes.com/trash-service-transition-information/

Edited to add: do NOT pull the green toter back to your house. Leave at curb for pickup.

Scheduled Water Service Interruption – Thursday, June 26, 2025

On Thursday, June 26, 2025, it will be necessary to temporarily shut off water service on GRACE STREET in order to complete a water line repair.

🕐 Estimated Time of Interruption: Around 1:00 PM
⏱️ Estimated Duration: Less than 1 hour

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we complete this necessary work. Service will be restored as quickly as possible once the repair is complete.

After service is restored:
If your water appears cloudy or discolored, we recommend the following steps to flush your lines:

Turn on cold water taps only.

Let the water run for 3–5 minutes, or until it runs clear.

Begin with the lowest faucet in your home (such as a basement sink), then move to higher fixtures.

This helps clear any air or sediment that may have entered the lines during the repair.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
